Oh, come on, now – can we at least wait until Donald Trump takes office before we discuss impeaching him? The far left, apparently, thinks not.
A group called the Hamilton Electors, the same organization that tried, unsuccessfully, to pressure Electoral College members into casting ballots for anyone but Trump, has a new campaign, it seems.
In a statement distributed to the media, Hamilton Electors counseled patience for the anti-Trump crowd – that members are “buoyed by widespread grassroots and bipartisan support to stop Trump” and therefore, are not going to be giving up the ghost any time soon.
“We will continue to fight for our country and for our democracy,” the statement read.
It also read: “Hamilton Electors hope this watershed moment will lay the groundwork for the emerging grassroots resistance to Trump’s agenda.”
And in a tweet that contained the full statement, the Hamilton Electors underscored their continuing campaign to thwart all-things-Trump, with this blunt reaction to the Electoral College’s vote: “Our response. More to come. Please stay tuned.”
For what?
Well, here’s a hint at the anti-Trumpers’ next move, via a statement from Texas Republican elector Chris Suprun, who cast his ballot for Ohio Gov. John Kasich, as reported by Fox News.
“As a person who has always played fast and loose with the law, Trump will likely be impeached within the first year of his Presidency by responsible Republicans in Congress. For the rest of us Americans, his presence in the Oval Office represents a crisis for the Constitution, the economy and the country,” he said.
So let’s get this straight: Trump hasn’t even taken office, yet leftists and RINOs are already talking up the “I” word, impeachment?
This is odd, at best – lunatic, at worst.
After all, an impeachment of someone can’t go actually forward without that said someone being in an impeachable position. And step two of the impeachment process would also seem to suggest the said someone would have to commit an offense that rises to the level of impeachment – you know, like Democrat Bill Clinton, when he lied to the American people while under oath.
But the anti-Trump crowd apparently doesn’t see the logic in waiting. Talk about jumping the gun.
It shows just how determined the left, the elitists and the politically entrenched are to take out Trump – so much so they don’t even want to wait for him to take office to try and destroy him. Here’s a thought: Maybe Trump could actually be a good president, for the country as a whole?
The progressive-socialists bent on turning America into an of, by and for the government system of governance can’t even stand still for a moment to consider that possibility, though.
Here’s the whole attitude of the anti-Trumpers, concisely summed by documentarian-slash-propagandist Michael Moore in a tweet to his Hollywood friends and faithful progressive followers: “He’s not president for four and a half weeks. Next idea?”
Get ready, Republicans and Trump supporters. The next four, maybe eight, years are going to be filled with political fighting, the intensity of which probably hasn’t been seen since the Ronald Reagan years.
