Rosie O’Donnell, one of the loudest critics of Donald Trump – and who has traded nasty barbs with the billionaire businessman in public settings long before he was ever the president-elect – has joined forces with other celebrity-types to kick off a full month of resistance against what they say is a “fascist America” that’s about to take root in the White House.
The group Refuse Fascism is sponsoring the campaign. Other celebrities who’ve jumped on board include Debra Messing, Michael Shannon and Ed Asner, the last of whom has self-identified for some time as a socialist.
“No! In the Name of Humanity We Refuse to Accept a Fascist America!” read one ad in the New York Times by Refuse Fascism.
The ad continues: “Donald Trump, the President-elect, is assembling a regime of grave danger. Millions of people in the US and around the world are filled with deep anxiety, fear, and disgust. Our anguish is right and just. Our anger must now become massive resistance –before Donald Trump is inaugurated and has the full reins of power in his hands.”
The ad went on: “The Trump regime must and can be stopped before it starts! … Fill the streets of DC with millions, millions more demonstrate in every major city and small town all over US and the world, demanding that Trump-Pence be prevented from taking office before January 20.”
Specifically, group members are pressing for a “Month of Resistance” to fight against Trump, warning the incoming administration is about to use “the virulent movements of white supremacy and anti-immigrant hysteria” to further fascist goals.
The celebrities mentioned in the article are the fascist. They have no problem with using the brut force of the Government to advance their beliefs. This is the only reason they vote progressive over and over. Now the tides have changed so be afraid America nothing but bad things are going to happen. Be very afraid things. After all history proofed them and the media right during the Reagan years. Thank God for Hollywood for saving us from ourselfs.
